The third edition of the Syngenta Photography Award invited photographers to respond to the theme of ‘Grow-Conserve’ – as the world’s population continues to increase, so does the tension between our growing demand for more food, energy and resources, and the protection of our planet.
There are two categories – a Professional Commission that offers $55,000 is prizes inlcuding a $25,000 grant; and the Open Competition with a total of $10,000 in prizes offered.
Finalists were named on October 11 after our judging conference in London. Winners will be announced in March 2017 at the Carnegie Library in Washington DC, followed by an exhibition highlighting some of the most thought-provoking responses to the theme.
